Dave Nice gets ready to pedal 2,711 miles

Dave Nice and his Jabber at Stranahan's Whiskey

Dave Nice, out of Denver, Colorado gets prepared to begin the journey from from Banff, Alberta, to Antelope Wells, New Mexico on the Continental Divide Trail. The trail is approximately 2,711 miles and is an unsupported off-road mountain bike race. Dave will be riding his Jabberwocky as a fixed-gear mountain bike. It's a single-speed bike without gears or a freewheel - when the wheels move, the pedals move.

The race is ranked as "one of the 10 toughest races in the world" by Bike Magazine.

Read the rest of Dave's story in the Denver Post and Ergon.

GOOD LUCK DAVE!!!

That is really cool. I bet you he'll be the only one that will make it without having to replace a derailleur three times.

Also riding on a fixie is so much fun. You'll have a blast. Good Luck.
